Black Pearl Granite.
Black Pearl Granite is a deep charcoal-black stone from Andhra Pradesh, distinguished by a subtle silvery shimmer across its dark surface — a premium alternative to pure black granites that combines depth with a refined mineral character.
About Pearl
Black Pearl Granite is quarried in Andhra Pradesh's established granite zone, where mafic intrusives within the Eastern Ghats geological belt produce the consistent dark matrix and characteristic mineral lustre of the stone. The quarry operates at export scale, supplying gangsaw slabs and tiles to markets in Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Block inspection for colour uniformity and shimmer intensity is carried out before processing. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Geological Profile
Black Pearl is a medium-grained mafic granitoid dominated by hornblende, plagioclase feldspar, and biotite, with accessory ilmenite and feldspar phenocrysts that produce the stone's characteristic grey-silver shimmer. The dark matrix results from the high proportion of hornblende and biotite relative to lighter mineral phases. The silver mineral shimmer originates from oriented feldspar and biotite cleavage planes that reflect light at certain angles — similar to but less pronounced than the labradorite effect in Blue Pearl. Low porosity gives the stone excellent stain resistance.
Color & Character
Black Pearl Granite presents a deep charcoal-black to dark grey background with a distributed silver-grey mineral shimmer that becomes most pronounced under direct or raking light. The surface is not as graphically stark as absolute black granites; instead, the silver mineral component introduces a soft, pearlescent quality that adds depth and interest to the dark field. On polished surfaces, the contrast between the dark matrix and the shimmering mineral phases is at its maximum. The stone's character shifts noticeably with viewing angle and lighting conditions.
Best Applications
Kitchen Countertops

Care & Maintenance
Black Pearl Granite is low maintenance due to its very low porosity. An impregnating sealer at installation is recommended for kitchen and bathroom applications, refreshed every 18 to 24 months. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; wipe dry promptly to prevent water marks on polished surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. The polished finish is long-lasting and the silvery shimmer does not diminish with normal use.
