Warm, grounded, expressive — the off-white of southern Rajasthan.

Origin & Geography

Banswara White Marble takes its name from the Udaipur district of Rajasthan — the city of lakes and one of India's most storied stone-producing regions. The marble deposits here sit within the southern Aravalli belt, where Precambrian limestone formations underwent intense heat and pressure over geological timescales, producing the fine-grained, tightly crystallised marble structure that gives this stone both its exceptional workability and its distinctive soft colour palette.

Udaipur has supplied stone for palaces, temples, and step-wells across Rajasthan for centuries. Today the region's quarries serve a global export market, and our facility sources directly from quarry faces we know well — enabling the consistency of block quality and colour matching that large project specifications demand.

Geological Profile

Banswara White is a medium-grained metamorphic marble with a recrystallised calcite matrix carrying trace iron and clay-derived mineral concentrations. These trace minerals are responsible for the soft warm cast that distinguishes Banswara White from cooler northern marbles, and for the characteristic grey-brown veining that runs across the surface. The veining typically follows metamorphic foliation planes, producing the directional, flowing patterns visible in well-cut slabs. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.

Color & Character

Colour across Banswara White slabs reads as a warm off-white — never stark — with veining in shades of soft grey, taupe, and occasional golden-brown. The veining tends to flow in directional patterns rather than scatter randomly, giving cut slabs a sense of visual movement that suits projects looking for character without high contrast. Some blocks lean cooler and cleaner; others present richer warm tones with more pronounced veining.

The stone pairs naturally with warm-palette interiors — oak, walnut, brass, brushed bronze, terracotta — where it reads as grounded and inviting rather than crisp. Against cooler design schemes it softens and humanises the space. Polished finishes deepen the warm undertone and accentuate vein contrast; honed finishes lift the white reading and quiet the stone for floor applications.

Applications

Banswara White Marble is most commonly specified for residential flooring, hotel guestroom finishes, restaurant interiors, and feature wall installations in projects where a warm, grounded white is the design intent. Its medium visual weight allows it to anchor a space as a primary floor material or function as an accent for vanity tops, fireplace surrounds, and feature cladding without dominating.

Gangsaw slabs (280 × 180 cm) suit large flooring and cladding installations where minimum joint count is desired. Cutter slabs (180 × 60 cm) are popular for bathroom vanities, kitchen islands, and stair treads. Custom tile sizes are cut to specification at our Rajasthan facility, with polished, honed, or leathered finishing applied before container despatch.

Finish Options

Polished finish accentuates the warm undertone and produces a refined reflective surface — the most frequently specified finish for vertical cladding and vanity tops. Honed finish lifts the white reading slightly and is well-suited to bathroom and kitchen floor applications. Leathered finish introduces gentle surface texture and softens the warm cast, suiting residential feature walls and contemporary vanity tops. Brushed finish is available for heritage and rustic-style applications.

Care & Maintenance

Apply a penetrating stone sealer at installation; reseal annually in kitchen and bathroom environments. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and soft cloth — never acidic or abrasive products, which will etch the calcite surface. Blot spills promptly, particularly red wine, coffee, oil, and citrus. The warm undertone is intrinsic to the stone’s mineralogy and will not fade or discolour under normal interior conditions when sealed correctly.
