Cloud White Marble takes its name from the Udaipur district of Rajasthan — the city of lakes and one of India's most storied stone-producing regions. The marble deposits here sit within the southern Aravalli belt, where Precambrian limestone formations underwent intense heat and pressure over geological timescales, producing the fine-grained, tightly crystallised marble structure that gives this stone both its exceptional workability and its distinctive soft colour palette.
Udaipur has supplied stone for palaces, temples, and step-wells across Rajasthan for centuries. Today the region's quarries serve a global export market, and our facility sources directly from quarry faces we know well — enabling the consistency of block quality and colour matching that large project specifications demand.

Cloud White is a fine-grained metamorphic marble with a recrystallised calcite matrix and characteristic soft grey patterning. The cloud-like effect is produced by diffuse concentrations of carbonaceous and clay-derived material that were stretched and folded during metamorphism, creating gradient transitions rather than sharp vein lines. This is why the material reads as atmospheric rather than graphic — the grey content moves through the white in soft drift patterns rather than discrete bands. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Cloud White slabs present a soft white field with grey patterning that reads less like veining and more like atmospheric movement — drifts, cloud forms, and gradient transitions across the surface. Some blocks present subtle, restrained cloud effects; others carry richer, more visible grey movement that gives the slabs sculptural depth. The overall character is contemplative and layered rather than crisp and graphic.
The stone pairs particularly well with contemporary minimalist interiors, where its soft layered character adds quiet visual interest without adding noise. Against pale oak, brushed brass, and matte white joinery, it reads as serene; against darker design palettes, the grey movement becomes more visible and adds dimensional depth. Polished finishes deepen the contrast between white field and grey drift; honed finishes pull the entire surface towards a soft cohesive matte.
Cloud White Marble is most commonly specified for luxury bathroom installations, residential feature walls, hotel suite finishes, and book-matched cladding projects where the soft cloud-like patterning becomes a design feature in itself. Book-matched slab pairs are particularly effective for vanity walls and shower surrounds, where the mirrored pattern creates dramatic, sculptural compositions.
Gangsaw slabs (280 × 180 cm) suit large feature cladding and floor installations; cutter slabs (180 × 60 cm) are typical for vanity tops and bathroom surrounds. Book-matching pairs are available on request — our Rajasthan facility selects and cuts adjacent slabs from the same block for projects where pattern continuity is part of the design intent.
Polished finish maximises the contrast between white field and grey cloud movement, producing a dramatic surface most often specified for feature walls and vanity installations. Honed finish softens the contrast and produces a contemplative matte ideal for bathroom floors and contemporary residential applications. Leathered finish introduces gentle texture and quiets the visual contrast, suiting projects where the cloud effect should be present but understated. Brushed finish is occasionally specified for rustic-leaning installations.
This stone is supplied in two production formats. Gangsaw slabs are large-format slabs for premium architectural projects requiring continuous surfaces. Cutter slabs are smaller-format slabs optimised for residential installations and tile production.

Custom tile sizes available: 60×60 cm, 60×90 cm, 90×90 cm. Cut to specification at our Rajasthan facility.
Apply a penetrating stone sealer at installation; reseal annually in bathroom and kitchen environments. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and soft cloth — never acidic cleaners or abrasive pads, which will etch the calcite surface and dull polished finishes. Blot spills promptly, particularly wine, coffee, oil, and citrus juices. The grey cloud patterning is intrinsic to the stone’s mineralogy and will not change under normal interior conditions when correctly sealed.
