Fantasy Blue Marble is quarried in Kelwa village, Rajsamand district, central Rajasthan. Kelwa is one of the established marble-producing villages within the broader Rajsamand belt, with multiple long-running quarry operators producing both white and coloured marbles. The Fantasy Blue deposits within Kelwa produce a distinctive layered blue-grey marble that has gained recognition in contemporary design markets across Asia and the Middle East.
Gemarix maintains direct relationships with quarry operators in Kelwa village, allowing us to control block selection for the layered patterning that defines Fantasy Blue. The pattern character varies significantly between blocks — some present subtler layering, others carry richer dramatic movement — and project-matched supply requires hands-on selection at the quarry stage. Our direct sourcing model makes consistent multi-container supply possible for export specifications.

Fantasy Blue is a fine-grained metamorphic marble with a recrystallised calcite matrix carrying blue-grey colouration produced by minor amphibole-group mineral concentrations and trace iron silicates. The distinctive layered patterning seen across slabs is produced by alternating concentrations of clay-derived and carbonaceous minerals stretched along strong metamorphic foliation planes during the regional orogenic events that built the Aravalli range. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Fantasy Blue slabs present a layered blue-grey field with sculptural directional movement — alternating bands of deeper blue, lighter cream-grey, and occasional darker mineral detail flowing across the surface in dramatic linear patterns. Some blocks present subtler layering suited to restrained applications; others carry richer dramatic patterning ideal for feature installations; book-matched pairs produce particularly powerful mirrored compositions.
The marble pairs strikingly with contemporary design vocabularies — against brushed steel, blackened metal, and pale oak it provides cool sculptural depth; in traditional settings the dramatic layering reads as architectural sculpture. Polished finishes maximise the layered contrast and produce a high-reflectivity surface; honed finishes soften the contrast and pull the surface towards a contemplative matte ideal for floor applications.
Fantasy Blue Marble is most commonly specified for feature walls, vanity tops, kitchen islands, fireplace surrounds, and book-matched cladding installations where the layered blue patterning becomes the central design element. Its visual weight makes it best deployed as a focal feature rather than a primary floor material.
Gangsaw slabs (280 × 180 cm) are particularly important for this stone, since the layered patterning needs maximum slab size to extend without interrupting joints. Cutter slabs (180 × 60 cm) suit vanity tops and smaller feature installations. Book-matched pairs are highly effective — our Kelwa-belt facility selects adjacent slabs from the same block for projects where mirrored layering enhances the dramatic effect.
Polished finish maximises the layered contrast and blue character — most often specified for feature walls and vanity tops. Honed finish softens the contrast and produces a contemporary matte suitable for floor applications. Leathered finish introduces gentle surface texture that complements the sculptural patterning. Brushed finish is occasionally specified for industrial-contemporary applications.
This stone is supplied in two production formats. Gangsaw slabs are large-format slabs for premium architectural projects requiring continuous surfaces. Cutter slabs are smaller-format slabs optimised for residential installations and tile production.

Custom tile sizes available: 60×60 cm, 60×90 cm, 90×90 cm. Cut to specification at our Rajasthan facility.
Apply a penetrating stone sealer at installation; reseal annually in kitchen and bathroom environments. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner — avoid acidic cleaners and abrasive pads, which etch calcite. Blot spills promptly, particularly wine, coffee, oil, and citrus. The blue character and layered patterning are intrinsic to the stone's mineralogy and remain stable under normal interior conditions when correctly sealed.
