Morwad White Marble is quarried in Morwad village, Rajsamand district, central Rajasthan — the namesake village of the Morwad marble belt and one of India's most established white-marble production centres. The Morwad belt has supplied India's premium architectural projects for generations and continues to produce the refined project-grade whites that define India's marble export reputation in international markets.
Gemarix maintains direct relationships with quarry operators in Morwad village itself, the source of the highest-grade material from the belt. The direct sourcing model is essential for project-scale supply where visual coherence across multiple containers matters for the finished installation. Our relationships allow us to select specific block runs for project specifications rather than rely on catalogue-based ordering.

Morwad White is a fine-to-medium-grained metamorphic marble with a recrystallised calcite matrix and low accessory mineral content. The subtle character that distinguishes Morwad White from other Rajsamand whites comes from a particular mineral signature local to Morwad village — minor iron and clay-derived material distributed evenly through the calcite matrix in patterns specific to the village's deposits. The tight grain structure gives Morwad White excellent dimensional stability for slab applications. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Morwad White presents as a refined, balanced white — neither stark nor warm-leaning — sitting in the central register of Indian whites that has made the Morwad belt the reference standard for project-grade specification. Veining tends to be subtle and directional, soft grey or pale taupe wisps moving across the surface in restrained, project-friendly patterns rather than dominant linear lines.
The marble pairs effectively across design vocabularies. Against contemporary matte black joinery it provides clean refinement; against traditional oak and brass it sits comfortably without competing. Polished finishes produce a clean reflective surface and bring out subtle vein detail; honed finishes pull the surface towards a contemporary matte ideal for residential and hotel-suite floor applications.
Morwad White Marble is most commonly specified for premium residential flooring, hotel and hospitality interiors, monumental cladding, luxury bathroom installations, and feature wall applications across global projects. Its refined character and consistency make it the project specification of choice for installations where coherence across large surface areas matters more than dramatic visual character.
Gangsaw slabs (280 × 180 cm) are supplied for large-format flooring and full-height cladding where minimum joint count is critical. Cutter slabs (180 × 60 cm) are typical for vanity tops, kitchen surrounds, and stair treads. Our Rajasthan facility cuts custom tile sizes and book-matched slab pairs for feature applications, finishing to polished, honed, or leathered surface as required.
Polished finish produces a clean reflective surface and is the most frequently specified finish for vertical cladding, vanity tops, and feature walls. Honed finish produces a soft contemporary matte well-suited to residential and hotel-suite floor applications. Leathered finish introduces gentle surface texture, suiting feature walls where reflectivity is unwanted. Brushed finish is available for heritage and rustic-style projects.
This stone is supplied in two production formats. Gangsaw slabs are large-format slabs for premium architectural projects requiring continuous surfaces. Cutter slabs are smaller-format slabs optimised for residential installations and tile production.

Custom tile sizes available: 60×60 cm, 60×90 cm, 90×90 cm. Cut to specification at our Rajasthan facility.
Apply a penetrating stone sealer at installation; reseal annually in kitchen and bathroom environments. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and soft cloth — never acidic cleaners or abrasive pads, which etch the calcite surface. Blot spills promptly, particularly wine, coffee, oil, and citrus. With correct sealing and routine care, Morwad White holds its surface and tone reliably across years of demanding residential and hospitality use.
