Scorpio Brown Marble is quarried across the Rajsamand and Bhilwara districts of central Rajasthan within the Aravalli marble belt. The Rajsamand-Bhilwara corridor produces a range of warm-toned and dramatic-patterned marbles, of which Scorpio Brown stands out for its rich brown field and sculptural movement that gives the stone substantial visual presence in interior installations.
Gemarix sources Scorpio Brown directly from operators across the Rajsamand-Bhilwara corridor, allowing us to select for character consistency across project specifications. The brown character varies between blocks — some lean richer and warmer, others present cooler grey-brown reads. Our direct relationships allow project-matched supply for export installations where visual coherence matters.

Scorpio Brown is a medium-grained metamorphic marble with a recrystallised calcite matrix carrying significant iron oxide content responsible for the rich brown colouration. The sculptural movement seen across slabs comes from the way iron oxide and trace mineral distribution interacted with metamorphic foliation during the regional orogenic events that built the Aravalli range. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Scorpio Brown slabs present a rich brown field with sculptural movement — flowing patterns of darker brown, lighter cream, and occasional grey detail that give the stone substantial visual presence. Some blocks lean warmer and richer; others present cooler grey-brown character; book-matched pairs produce dramatic mirrored compositions for feature installations.
The marble pairs powerfully with traditional, heritage, and contemporary-with-warm-accent design vocabularies. Against teak, brass, leather, and warm walls it grounds sculpturally as a primary feature; against cooler palettes it provides warm contrast and visual weight. Polished finishes maximise the brown character and movement depth; honed finishes soften the contrast for floor applications.
Scorpio Brown Marble is most commonly specified for feature walls, fireplace surrounds, vanity tops, hotel lobbies, restaurant interiors, and book-matched cladding where the rich brown character becomes the central design element. Its visual weight makes it best deployed as a focal feature.
Gangsaw slabs (280 × 180 cm) suit feature wall and large vertical installations; cutter slabs (180 × 60 cm) are typical for vanity tops and smaller feature applications. Book-matched pairs are particularly effective — our Rajasthan facility selects adjacent slabs from the same block for projects where mirrored brown movement enhances the visual impact.
Polished finish maximises the rich brown character and movement depth — most often specified for feature walls and vanity applications. Honed finish softens the surface and produces a contemplative matte suitable for floor applications. Leathered finish introduces gentle surface texture that suits the warm character. Brushed finish suits heritage applications.
This stone is supplied in two production formats. Gangsaw slabs are large-format slabs for premium architectural projects requiring continuous surfaces. Cutter slabs are smaller-format slabs optimised for residential installations and tile production.

Custom tile sizes available: 60×60 cm, 60×90 cm, 90×90 cm. Cut to specification at our Rajasthan facility.
Apply a penetrating stone sealer at installation; reseal annually in kitchen and bathroom environments. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner — avoid acidic cleaners and abrasive pads. Blot spills promptly. The brown character is intrinsic to the stone's mineralogy and remains stable when correctly sealed.
