Toronto Brown Marble is quarried across the Rajsamand and Bhilwara districts of central Rajasthan, within the Aravalli marble belt. The Rajsamand-Bhilwara corridor produces a range of warm-toned brown marbles, of which Toronto Brown stands out for its distinctive chocolate-brown character with cream and lighter brown movement layered across the surface — a sophisticated palette that suits both traditional and contemporary design vocabularies.
Gemarix sources Toronto Brown directly from operators across the Rajsamand-Bhilwara corridor, allowing us to select for character consistency across project specifications. The chocolate-brown character varies between blocks — some lean richer and warmer, others present cooler grey-brown reads. Our direct relationships allow project-matched supply for export installations where visual coherence matters.

Toronto Brown is a medium-grained metamorphic marble with a recrystallised calcite matrix carrying significant iron oxide content responsible for the warm chocolate colouration. The cream and lighter brown movement seen across slabs comes from variations in iron oxide concentration and minor clay-derived mineral content stretched along metamorphic foliation planes. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Toronto Brown slabs present a rich chocolate-brown field with cream and lighter brown sculptural movement flowing across the surface. Some blocks lean warmer and richer; others present cooler grey-brown character with more cream detail; book-matched pairs produce dramatic mirrored compositions for feature installations. The overall character is warm, sophisticated, and refined.
The marble pairs powerfully with traditional, heritage, and contemporary-with-warm-accent design vocabularies. Against teak, brass, leather, and warm walls it grounds as a sophisticated primary feature; against cooler palettes it provides warm contrast and visual weight. Polished finishes maximise the chocolate character and movement depth; honed finishes soften the contrast for floor applications.
Toronto Brown Marble is most commonly specified for feature walls, fireplace surrounds, vanity tops, hotel lobbies, restaurant interiors, and book-matched cladding where the rich chocolate character becomes the central design element. Its visual weight makes it best deployed as a focal feature.
Gangsaw slabs (280 × 180 cm) suit feature wall and large vertical installations; cutter slabs (180 × 60 cm) are typical for vanity tops and smaller feature applications. Book-matched pairs are particularly effective — our Rajasthan facility selects adjacent slabs from the same block for projects where mirrored brown movement enhances the visual impact.
Polished finish maximises the chocolate character and movement depth — most often specified for feature walls and vanity applications. Honed finish softens the surface and produces a contemplative matte suitable for floor applications. Leathered finish introduces gentle surface texture that suits the warm character. Brushed finish suits heritage applications.
This stone is supplied in two production formats. Gangsaw slabs are large-format slabs for premium architectural projects requiring continuous surfaces. Cutter slabs are smaller-format slabs optimised for residential installations and tile production.

Custom tile sizes available: 60×60 cm, 60×90 cm, 90×90 cm. Cut to specification at our Rajasthan facility.
Apply a penetrating stone sealer at installation; reseal annually in kitchen and bathroom environments. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner — avoid acidic cleaners and abrasive pads. Blot spills promptly. The chocolate-brown character is intrinsic to the stone's mineralogy and remains stable when correctly sealed.
